The purpose of this tool is allow a user to adjust the importance of 5 selected traits in order to develop their own livabilty index based on their unique circumstances and preferences.
Each trait can be adjusted in weight on a scale from 0 to 100.
Select Borough: Select one borough in the city or all the boroughs to see their overall score or trait value.
Select Trait: Overall Score (calculated based on trait values and weights applied to them) or one of the five traits.
The value for each trait was calculated using data and assigned weights. Factors included in each trait is listed below.
Transit: Subway Stations, Covered Bus Stops, and Public Bicycle Parking
Restaurant Safety: Number of Restaurants, Violations, Closures, Health Grade
Safety: Felonies, Misdemeanors, Violations
Health: Influenza/Pneumonia Admissions, EMS Incidents, Water Inspections, Rodent Inspections
Housing: Average Rent Prices, Housing Violations
